An Italian tradition

Corredo is a modern retelling of a centuries-old Italian tradition.

Women learned to weave and embroider from the time they were girls, spending years, sometimes over a decade, to build the largest and most ornate corredo they could: a set of hand-made home textiles, given to a future daughter for her marriage.

Tableware, bedding, towels, everything it takes to dress a home for a lifetime.
Slowly and deliberately, and often through the sisterhood of helping each other, women built these sets thread by thread.

Through their corredo, women turned bare walls into a home.

For generations, corredo functioned as a dowry, tied to a predetermined destiny: the richer the corredo, the better the life a mother could promise her daughters.

When this tradition was finally left behind, the craft went with it. Generations of women's skill and labor were reduced to a mere symptom of the system that had shaped them.

Our Corredo tells a different story.

The women we come from had the audacity to make something scandalously beautiful, and of undeniable value when nobody recognized theirs.

With craft and creativity, they turned thread into power, affirming their worth stitch by stitch.

Philosophy

This is the tradition we inherit: the craft, not the destiny it was once bound to.
We work with the oldest weaving foundation in the south of Italy: the same skill, the same threads, now building homes on your own terms.

We, future ancestors, decide what we carry forward and what we leave behind.

Corredo is what we choose to carry: a way to build a legacy, a home, a web, at a time when grounding is hard to come by.

A way to insist that humans matter, in a culture built to make us feel disposable.

A radical beauty: to make less, and make it mean more.

Our partner producers - Fondazione Le Costantine

For our first collection, we are honored to partner with Fondazione Le Costantine, the only remaining maker of handwoven textiles in Southern Italy.

Established in 1901 and dedicated to preserving centuries-old weaving traditions, the Foundation creates every piece by hand on antique wooden looms before it is carefully embroidered by local artisans.

The designs draw inspiration from the Foundation's remarkable archive of historic corredi and textile patterns, carrying forward a rich cultural heritage while giving it new life.

We feel incredibly fortunate to collaborate with an institution whose commitment to craftsmanship, community, and tradition so closely reflects our own values.
