Ours is a modern retelling of a centuries-old Italian tradition. From girlhood, women spent years weaving a 'corredo': a set of hand embroidered home textiles for a future daughter's marriage. However, as the archaic dowry custom finally began to disappear, so did generations' worth of women's craftsmanship. Their stories and work mostly forgotten.

Our Corredo tells this story from the perspective of women. The women we come from had the audacity to make something scandalously beautiful when society didn't recognize their worth. We inherit their craft and ingenuity, not the destiny they were bound to. We make exceptional homeware by hand and to order, to give everyone a way to weave their own new traditions.

Our first collection is made with Fondazione Le Costantine, the only remaining maker of handwoven textiles in southern Italy. For over a century it's been for and by women: its master weavers work antique wooden looms entirely by hand and educate new generations. Every part of Corredo is made in Italy by our growing network of master weavers and embroiderers.
